A note from DPDC Chairman

“We concede the election, but not the fight.” ~ Kamala Harris

“Let us go forward together. The struggle continues.” ~ Bernie Sanders

Dear Douglas County Democrats, Allies, and concerned individuals,

The fight is not over. Harris lost the election, but we cannot lose our resolve to work for a more fair and equitable nation. We can put the darkness behind us and shine a light on the uncertain path ahead … with love, compassion, community and the work we do together.

I want to take a moment to reflect on our local races. The hard work that was done and the many miles driven by our candidates in our local races who helped make sure that Douglas County residents know what we stand for.  It was difficult, time consuming and took amazing determination. All stepped out of their comfort zone to carry a message forward from us, the local Democratic Party. They deserve our respect and appreciation. Please thank them when you can.

In 2016, with the first election of Trump. We saw a surge of people who wanted to make sure they felt heard and supported in the wake of the division that is Trump's campaign, particularly in rural areas like ours. We are here for you! To take your questions, your concerns, and to help organize for the future that is ahead. We can’t do it without you! I encourage you to stay tuned, participate in one of our meetings. Or run for a special district. You can be the change you want to see!

You are the future, you are the reason we organize.

People not politics.
