Douglas County Democrats
According to former Democratic Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill, "All politics is local." The county party organization is the primary vehicle of local political action. It is the grass roots. It is also the point of entry into state and national party politics.
The Democratic Central Committee in each county directs the party's local activities and sends delegates to regional, state, and national conventions. The voting members of the Central Committee are Precinct Committee Persons. The monthly Committee meetings are open to the public, and guests are encouraged to participate.
